your host PJ van
der Walt, owner and host, created this space for the individual who wants to
be away from the hustle and bustle of city life, yet be 10-15 min away from
the city metropole, beach and DF Malan International Airport, Cape Town. PJ
qualified as a dive master with N.A.U.I. in September 1988, and joined the
Cape Tourism Authority on August 29 1988, when he started PJ's Atlantic and
Indian Ocean Dive Charters. Specialising in:
In 1997 PJ decided to go back into the tourism industry and opened the
Riverlodge Backpackers. Here he is able to share his knowledge and organise
Eco-tours. Eco-tourism is very near to his heart and he has initiated with
the governing body to establish bird hides in the wetlands on the estate.
There are 58 species of birds in the wetlands. Currently he is looking for
sponsors to construct several bird hides on the Palotti Wetlands.
