Introduction Kagga Kamma private game reserve is located in an untouched malaria free wilderness area near Ceres to the South of the magnificent Cedarberg Mountains, 250km (±40 min. flying time) from Cape Town. The reserve is characterised by breathtaking rock formations and magnificent scenery that is unique to this part of Africa. Here you can find an exceptionally wide range of fauna and flora, some of which are classified highly endangered. The area has a rich cultural heritage with Bushman/San rock paintings of up to 6000 years old scattered around the reserve. On our celebrated San Cultural Tour guests can appreciate the ancient Bushman living sites at first hand and get an in-depth interpretation from one of our expert guides.

guests can also learn more about the various species of plants (and their
traditional & medicinal uses), birds and animals, experience the Southern
Skies and enjoy a sundowner with stunning views of the area. Accommodation is at the luxurious Bushmen Lodge with its rooms resembling Bushman caves and huts that are nestled between unbelievable sandstone formations, equipped with all the modern conveniences and en-suite facilities. The lodge has a pub, curio shop and restaurant (with an open air boma) where sumptuous South African cuisine, an excellent local wine and superb service can be enjoyed. For timeshare owners (or special group bookings) there is also the Rest Camp with a number of comfortable three bed-roomed chalets as accommodation. Accommodation Bushmen Lodge , nestled between weathered sandstone formations of almost any imaginable form, provides accommodation for up to 30 guests in 5 huts and 10 luxury "caves ", all with twin beds, en-suite bathrooms, heaters, hair dryers and fans. All meals are enjoyed in the restaurant and in the open air boma under the African stars, while drinks can be enjoyed in the Doppies lounge/bar. Rest camp is more suitable for family groups because of its 3 bed-roomed thatch roof chalets that can accommodate up to 8 people each. All have 1½ or 2 bathrooms and fireplace inside. Facilities Game Viewing Drives - A ranger will take you on an open 4x4 vehicle and tell you more about the various species of animals, birds and plants in the area while looking for animals like Eland, Kudu, Zebra, Bontebok, Whitetail Gnu, Springbuck, Gemsbok, Gnu, etc. San Cultural Tour - Accompanied by a ranger you will visit ancient San/Bushmen living sites with paintings up to 6000 years old. Learn more about the beliefs and mysteries surrounding the paintings. Swimming pool - Spend a relaxing afternoon around the sparkling pool built into magnificent rock formations. Hiking trails - Explore the rocks and crevices for more rock paintings on one of the short self guided hikes.
