The Lord Nelson Inn has been
created in the tradition of fine old inns of the past. Old-fashioned
hospitality, beautifully appointed rooms, excellent service that is warm,
friendly and personal, with a three star grading awarded from the Tourism
Grading Council of South Africa.
The Inn over looks the historic naval harbour and provides the tourist with
easy access to many of the recreational activities of the Cape. From our
superb beaches, you can sail, windsurf, go game fishing, or simply lie in
the sun.
For the sportsman and woman, there are tennis and golfing facilities nearby,
while for the explorer, there are many fascinating walks and trips to be
made, including a visit to the famous Cape Point Reserve.
Facilities
Downstairs, comfort is the keynote. Beautifully restored fireplaces offer
warmth and comfort in winter, while our bar - "Emily’s Den" - offers the
guest a choice of fine spirits and quality South African wines and sherries,
all in an atmosphere that provides comfort and charm.
Rooms
Each of our magnificent rooms has been individually restored and decorated
in colonial style, and each has its own unique theme.
Yet, woven into this traditional setting, the guest will find all the
comforts of the modern age; private bathrooms and colour televisions.
Some of the rooms have a private patio that overlooks the historic harbour
of Simon’s Town.
