Vanessa and
Rolf Schumacher are your hosts on Oude Wellington. “We wine and dine and
love company” best describes our way of life. We enjoy having guests,
discuss the world and have the world discuss us. We like to travel ourselves
and have met some very interesting people along the way, that having a
guesthouse became the natural extension.
Vanessa’s
background of working at 5 star hotels has of course helped to set up. We
regard the guesthouse as the ideal combination of accommodation and personal
attention.
There is
always a glass of wine to welcome our guests and, if you like, learn more
about the country and its people from the perspective of Vanessa, a truly
South African woman or from Rolf, an immigrant from Germany. South Africa
and its winelands are still fascinating to us and it is our chosen personal
retreat.
Guest House
Enjoy your
stay on our historical Cape Dutch Estate with vineyards and mountains. All
rooms have separate entrance, a Victorian style bath with grandma’s cast
iron bathtub on lion-claws, wall-safes, air-condition, underfloor heating
hand-formed clay tiles, TV, writing desk and mosquito-nets (just for the
Africa Feeling). We have a room with ground-level entrance (Room in Manor
House)
spacious bath and extra wide doors and everything else in the height to be
conveniently reachable from wheel chair level. Our scenic self catering
vineyard cottage is for the whole family (2 bedrooms). At our discretion and
other guests courtesy we welcome children. The use of the playground and
Swimming pool however is at users/parents risk. We have no rulses as when to
check in or out, or when you have to have your breakfast, we simply bank on
your discretion.
