pastures, where the foothills of the Outeniqua Mountains sweep down to the
warm waters of the Indian Ocean, Lies Kurland, the luxury country hotel,
established by the Baroness Diane Behr on the age-old Behr family estate
near Plettenberg Bay, along the famous Garden Route.
Guests will enjoy peace and
relaxation in the beautifully appointed and tranquil reception and sitting
rooms of a truly hand-made hotel which, although established in the old cape
Dutch tradition, is completely modern in all other respects, and which is
surrounded by immaculate polo fields with adjacent stables, which are all
part of the estate.
The tastefully decorated rooms
display some enviable objets d’art, antique furniture and original oils.
Whether bathed in cheerful sunshine or warmly lit by lamps and firelight,
they add a languid glamour to Kurland’s spacious, comfortable interiors.
Kuland’s well-stocked library
includes internet and e-mail facilities for those who require them.
Known by their proximities to the
Rose Garden or the Paddock, each of the individually styled en suite
bedrooms is a separate living area, with comfortable couches, telephone,
satellite television and mini-bars. Ten of the bedrooms have loft rooms
especially designed for children and some have private plunge pools for
those hot cape summer evenings.
Children of all ages are welcome
at Kurland being well catered for with tennis; boating; horse and cycle
riding, a games room and their own specially constructed swimming pool.
Relax into the pastoral mood of
Kurland in a comfortable chair on the spacious, shaded veranda, or stretch
out on a recliner by the palm-fringed, sparkling pool, A full bar service
with snacks is available.
Should you feel the urge to work
off your sumptuous farm breakfast, relax after a horseback ride or a game of
tennis, or simply pamper your deserving self, you need look no further than
the hotel’s health spa. It includes a fully equipped gymnasium, sauna,
steam bath and plunge pool. Beauty treatments and massages are available,
on request.
Or visit the state-of-the-art stables and magnificent
polo ponies waiting in anticipation of polo matches between players of
international standing, and participate in the excitement.

African Rands and are subject to change without notice.
Rates include: 3 course dinner, a sumptuous breakfast, VAT, all
non-alcoholic beverages as well as the use of certain leisure facilities.
Kurland has 12 rooms comprising of 3 categories: elegant, luxury and
superior.
Superior rooms have their own private swimming pools.
10 of our rooms have adjoining loft bedrooms which have been specifically
designed for children.
4 of the 10 loft bedrooms are connected to the parent's room via an interior
staircase. The ramaining 6 bedrooms are connected to the parent's room via
an exterior staircase. Children's tariffs apply to children sharing with
adults in adjoining loft rooms. Rates are in South African Rands
The single supplement is 25% of the per-person-sharing rate.
Check-in time is from 14h00 onwards and check-out time is by 11h00.
Early check-in and late check-out can be accommodated according to
availability.
Any gratuities are paid at your discretion.

Conferences
The Polo Room in The
Pavilion at Kurland measures 10m by 8m with a ceiling height of 3m. Situated
on the main polo field about 1km from the hotel, the Pavilion enjoys
wraparound views of the mountains, polo fields and paddocks.
With an adjoining lounge and bar and dining area, The Pavilion also has a
large wooden deck suitable for tea breaks and drinks.
Equipped with audio-visual equipment such as a flipchart, whiteboard,
overhead projector, screen, video projector and video machine, the
conference room accommodates a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 15 delegates
seated in a U shape.
Kurland has 12 double luxury rooms and will gladly provide assistance in
making reservations at hotels nearby for delegates that we are not able to
accommodate at Kurland. 10 of the 12 rooms have luxury loft rooms above for
children.
Breakfast and dinner are provided at the hotel. Lunch, morning tea and
afternoon tea is catered for at The Pavilion.
Plettenberg Bay and the surrounding area abounds with facilities for
activities such as whale-watching, sunset horse trails, golfing at the
countrys best courses, black water rafting and much more for both delegates
or their partners. There are also many other restaurants in Plettenberg Bay
for alternative dining.
The spa at Kurland has a steam room and sauna, and provides a variety of
massages, facials and other health and beauty treatments. Kurland also has a
tennis court and fully equipped gym. For the children there is a large
playroom as well as an outdoor play area with heated pools and an adventure
playground. Childcare facilities are provided.
The airport at Plettenberg Bay is 20km from the hotel and has daily flights
to and from Johannesburg. George Airport has regular flights to and from
Cape Town and is a 75 minute drive from the hotel.
The Pavilion is available only in conjunction with all twelve hotel rooms.
