Welcome to the OYSTERCATCHER LODGE - the exclusive Guest Lodge on the West-Coast of South Africa - 1½ hours away from Cape Town.

The Lodge is located in a secure and quiet position directly on the
waters edge, enjoy breathtaking sea views from your bedroom - sunrise and sunset from your private veranda - whales, dolphins and birds watchers paradise - golf course within walking distance of the lodge - seafood and steak restaurant with stunning sea views on your doorstep - a dream come true as the theme of the lodge says:

“ Beauty, is the freedom of your soul” (Goethe)

Your hosts Luc and Sue Christen, warmly welcome you

Accommodation

The lodge offers all guests sea-facing en suite rooms, with fabulous views of the sparkling Atlantic Ocean from your bed! Bedrooms are spacious and stylish, with a honeymoon suite and a suite specifically designed for disabled guests (wheel chair friendly).

All rooms have private balconies, extra length beds, overhead fans for summer. The finest cotton percale linen has been selected and each room is fitted with heated towel rails and under-floor heating.

A sumptuous breakfast is served in the dining room, or served al fresco in the summer overlooking the rocks and cobalt sea. Other meals are available at the “Oystercatcher” Cattle Baron Restaurant within walking distance of the lodge and owned by the hosts. The restaurant serves an excellent variety of seafood, steaks and continental cuisine.

We invite you to relax and enjoy the tranquil beauty of the West Coast in Style!

Additional Facilities

Spend some quiet hours reading at the pool or in the comfortable lounge with Satellite T.V., cappuccino/espresso machine constantly on-hand.

Partake of a drink from the well stocked bar and wander out onto the terrace to watch the magnificent sunsets.

In the chilly weather gather around the cosy fire and enjoy a glass of sherry and glühwein, or perhaps one of the fine wines from the region.

For the business executive, an ideal location to escape to with your winning team for strategic planning and leadership workshops.

Within walking distance of the lodge, is a 9-hole golf course.

The lodge is perfectly positioned for watching the Southern Right whales who frolic and calf for most of the year along these shores, often in the company of dusky dolphins.

Although only 150km’s from Cape Town, Shelley Point enjoys a considerably warmer winter and a lower rainfall, making it an ideal location to visit all year round.
