Goudini Wine Cellar lies next to the Smallblaar River near Rawsonville, in
the fertile Goudini Valley, about a hours drive from Cape Town. The Cellars
name Goudini is derived from a Khoi - San word meaning "bitter honey". The
award winning wines produced by Goudini reflect outstanding quality.
Goudini means bitter honey and is believed that honey make from the flowers
of the Smalblaar tree is bitter.
The winery was founded in 1948, the second oldest wine cellar in the
Worcester district. In 1948 the first crop of 6 080 tons of grapes was
received - today forty farmers delivered about 20 000 tons of grapes (±16
million litres) to the cellar.
Goudini Wines bottle and market an extensive range of wines including
white-, red-, rosč- and sparkling wine under the Goudini and Umfiki brands.
Umfiki is the Xhosa word for 'newcomer', and is the latest addition to our
range of products.
Goudini Wines is the first South African supplier to release any wine in
shrink-sleeve packaging - view this unique Brut Sparkling Wine on our
website. Our wines are available throughout South Africa as well as some
other countries, including Germany, Belgium and Mauritius
The charming Goudini Wine House, at the entrance of the cellar, houses the
winerys tasting venue. The venue is available for functions, conferences and
caters for tour groups.
We have pleasure in inviting you to visit Goudini Wine Cellar where you can
enjoy quality wines in a true Boland atmosphere. |
