Estate is situated at the foothill of the Simonsberg outside the town of
Stellenbosch. We are glad and proud to welcome you for a unique wine
experience in a superb environment. Share our passion of wine and fall in
love with everything that we and South Africa have to offer. Taste our wine
and discover our French savoir-faire. Stay in our comfortable African-style
guesthouse with stunning view of Table Mountain. Relax by the pool and enjoy
the regional cuisine in our waterside restaurant among the vines.
About the Estate
When the owners first visited the Estate in
2002, they fell under its spell and immediately decided to buy it and build
a full-fledged winery integrating the wine making, stocking and distributing
processes.
The Estate includes 36 hectares of land, out of which 18 are planted with
vines (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Pinotage and Sauvignon Blanc) and
6 are planted with fruit trees (clementines and lemons). The premises
includes two Cape Dutch-style houses, a Guest House with swimming pool, a
paddock for horses and near a charming pond housing a flock of ducks, the
famous “Olivello” Restaurant.
The most important building
of all is the French-African style wine cellar with its precious wood
facades, completed in 2005. Its modern design allows handling of the entire
harvesting process by gravity on three levels.
Through the huge glass doors of the tasting room, you can see the wine
cellar on the lower level with its stainless steel and wooden tanks. Two
large terraces provide a spectacular view of Table Mountain and Paarl
Mountains. Interior decoration is contemporary, blending teak panels and
polished stainless steel. A comfortable lounge and its fireplace welcome
guests for cozy tasting.
